In the absence of a statewide oral health surveillance program, Network partners collaborate to identify oral health data that illustrate the barriers and gaps in the system and that help to advance data-driven solutions. We analyze, summarize, and disseminate data that support policy and program development as well as to help policy-makers understand systemic challenges and potential solutions. Just as important as quantitative data are the stories that Network members share to demonstrate the need for this work and the power of the Network’s smaller scale wins and collective successes. Oral health access is a significant problem for many people and there is no quick fix for the problems we face.
